 ELIGIBILITY

If you are a full-time employee working 40 hours per week, or a part-time employee working a minimum of 24 hours per week, you and your dependents are eligible for MFA benefits. Physicians and Executives are eligible for benefits on their date of hire, while Staff are eligible on the first day of the month following the date of hire.

 MEDICAL

We offer four comprehensive medical plan options through UMR to meet the needs of our employees. Prescription drug benefits through CVS are automatically included when you enroll in a MFA medical plan.

 DENTAL

We offer comprehensive dental coverage options through MetLife. The plans also include 100% coverage for preventive care exams and yearly cleanings with in-network providers. Both dental plans also covers orthodontia expenses for your minor dependents.

 VISION

We offer vision coverage options through MetLife. The plan includes coverage for routine eye care expenses, including examinations and eyewear.

 RETIREMENT

MFA offers a 403(b) plan through Fidelity designed to lead you towards a secure retirement.

 LIFESTYLE BENEFITS

Paid Time Off

Providers will receive 23 days of annual leave per year, as well as up to four weeks of salary continuation every two years (if eligible). Staff will receive up to 22 days of paid time allotted (dependent upon length of service) .

Heath & Wellness

Health & Wellness programs are available through UMR if you are enrolled in a MFA medical plan. Programs include the Real Appeal weight loss program, Tobacco Cessation, Nurseline, Chronic Condition Nurses, and Maternity Management.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

We offer confidential and professional support through SupportLinc, our Employee Assistance Program. SupportLinc offers short-term counseling, expert referrals, financial and legal services, and a web portal for those having personal and/or work-related troubles.

Commuter Benefit

Provides staff and faculty tax-free savings on applicable mass transit commuter expenses to and from work.
 

 HOLIDAY TIME OFF

The MFA currently offers 10 paid holidays — including Juneteenth — off! This is the most in the District.

 SCHEDULE

Here at the MFA, we value work/life balance for our staff members. Most of our clinical and administrative staff hours are 8-hour day shifts; no nights, weekends, or holidays with the exception of Urgent Care and provider schedules.

 FINANCIAL

Health Savings Account

If you enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), you may participate in the HSA, a tax- free account you can use to pay for current and future medical expenses – even expenses during retirement.

Flexible Spending Account

A flexible spending account (FSA) offers a convenient, pre-tax way to pay for eligible health and dependent care expenses. Participation and enrollment are based on plan year and are processed through payroll deductions.

Tuition Reimbursement

At the MFA, continuous improvement is a major focus and key to our success. That philosophy also applies to our employees and their pursuit of continuous improvement through education. We may reimburse your tuition costs up to 67% of the cost for staff, or 100% of the cost for faculty; up to 6 credits. Please see more information on the MFA Connector's myTuitionRemission page.
      

 FINANCIAL PROTECTION

Optional Short-Term Disability

MFA offers a short-term disability (STD) policy that covers 60% of your pre-disability income for up to 24 weeks with a $5,000 weekly maximum after a 14- consecutive-day waiting period.

Long-Term Disability

MFA provides a long term disability (LTD) policy that covers 60% of your monthly salary at no cost to you. You are eligible after one year of service with MFA.

Life and AD&D

MFA provides employer-paid life and AD&D insurance at a sum equal to 2x your annual salary up to $2,000,000. You also have the option to purchase additional life insurance for yourself and your dependents.
